What is RDHAP?
RDHAP stands for a Registered Dental Hygienist in Alternative Practice. That is a Hygienist licensed to work independently to provide home service in preventive dental care to special populations.
It is known that many of the elderly, medically compromised, and developmentally disabled individuals lose their ability to get around. Additionally, children from low income homes also have difficulty receiving regular dental care. For this reason, RDHAP is an innovative alternative that provides dental care for any individual with obstacles preventing them from regular dental office visits, by bringing the dental care to their home.
